1. Information We Collect
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and profile information provided through our authentication provider (Clerk). When you use our service, we collect the product images you upload and the images we generate for you.
We also collect usage data such as pages visited, features used, generation settings, and timestamps. This helps us improve the service and troubleshoot issues.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and improve Katalyst image generation and listing content service
- Process payments and manage your subscription via Stripe
- Send transactional emails (receipts, credit alerts, notifications)
- Analyse usage patterns to improve the product experience
- Prevent fraud and enforce our terms of service
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your uploaded images to train AI models.
3. Data Storage & Security
Your uploaded and generated images are stored securely on Cloudflare R2 with server-side encryption. Account data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Supabase. All data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3 and at rest using industry-standard AES-256 encryption.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all associated data — including uploaded images, generated images, and account information — is permanently removed within 30 days.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate Katalyst AI:
- Clerk — Authentication and user management
- Stripe — Payment processing and subscription management
- Cloudflare R2 — Secure image storage
- Supabase — Database hosting (PostgreSQL)
- Google Gemini & OpenAI — AI image generation. Uploaded images are sent to these providers for processing only and are not used for model training.
- PostHog — Product analytics (anonymised usage data)
- Vercel — Application hosting and edge delivery
5. Your Rights
Under UK GDPR and applicable data protection laws, you have the right to:
- Access and download your data at any time through your dashboard
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information
- Delete your account and all associated data
- Opt out of non-essential communications
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format (data portability)
- Object to processing of your data for specific purposes
- Lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO)

6. Cookies & Analytics
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management — these are required for the service to function. We use analytics cookies (PostHog) to understand how you use our service and improve the experience.
You can opt out of analytics tracking through your browser settings or by using a privacy-focused browser extension. Essential cookies cannot be disabled as they are necessary for the service to work.
